Transfer Training Videos

In the Ambulance

This ambulance tour was filmed by WYCCODN, Critical Care staff from Harrogate District Hospital and Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to provide an idea of what you can expect to see in an ambulance that you may use for critical care transfers. Please do bear in mind that there is a range of vehicles in the YAS fleet so the exact specification may differ from the vehicle shown.

If you require an ambulance to transfer a bariatric patient you must make this request to YAS at the time of booking as a specific vehicle specification will be required.

Ferno Critical Care Transfer Trolley

This is the type of critical care transfer trolley that is used by most Acute Trusts in West Yorkshire  - the Ferno CCT-M Critical Care trolley. It is essential that you are aware and competent to use the critical care transfer trolley used in your organisation before transferring a critically ill patient.

Transfer Bag

This patient transfer bag is an example of one of the types of bags used for critical care transfers in West Yorkshire. A standardised list of contents can be found within the WYCCODN Transfer Guidelines (2021). You must be familiar with the contents of the transfer bag used within your organisation before transferring a critically ill patient.
