Critical Care Operational Delivery Networks

Quality through collaboration

The Critical Care Network in West Yorkshire was established in 2002 as a collaborative partnership bringing together clinical services to work collaboratively  to promote the highest quality critical care services.

In 2012 as part of the re-organisation of services in the NHS the critical care networks became Operational Delivery Networks.
Success factors for ODNs
  • Access and egress to and from services at the right time
  • Improved operating consistency
  • Improved outcomes
  • Increased productivity
More information can be found in Developing Operational Delivery Networks; The Way Forward (NHS Commissioning Board, 2012)

West Yorkshire Critical Care Operational Delivery Network

WYCCN is aligned to the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (WY ICB) via the System Oversight and Assurance Group (SOAG) and works in collaboration with the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT). This new alignment is an essential part of delivering critical care services across the system.

The WYCCN is made up of 6 acute trusts who collectively serve a population of approximately 2.3 million;

  • Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
  • Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust
