Global Measures
West Yorkshire Critical Care ODN collect a number of measures to provide comparative benchmarking data from the Critical Care Units across West Yorkshire and Harrogate on a monthly basis. The measures chosen provide a good overview about the effectiveness of patient flow and capacity; nursing workforce and unit acquired infections.
Many of the measures are based on national standards taken from the Core Standards for Intensive Care Services (2014); Guidelines for the Provision of Intensive Care Services (Edition 2) (2019) and have been incorporated into the D05 Service Specification for Adult Critical Care (2019)
Global Measures should be submitted by the 4th of the month with the previous months data. A quarterly report is produced and circulated to the Clinical Advisory Board and Senior Nurses.
