Acute Spinal Referrals for Surgery
Resources for when caring for patients with SCI
Below are a number of resources that have been put together which will be helpful if you have a patient awaiting a bed in the Spinal Centre
Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre (YRSIC) - Pinderfields
The Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre (YRSIC) is based in Pinderfields General Hospital and provides in-patient care for those with spinal cord injury through specialised rehabilitation by a multi disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists for patients with spinal cord injuries from West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Hull/Humberside.
All patients with a SCI need to be referred via the online national spinal injury database. Following this an outreach visit will be arranged by the outreach nurses from the Spinal Injuries Unit.
The North East & Yorkshire Spinal Cord Injuries Network has an application that holds useful information for patients and healthcare professionals about Spinal Cord Injuries. To download the app, open your app store on your phone or device and search for HealthZone.
Once downloaded type NEY into the search bar and tap NEY Spinal Injuries Network. This will remember your selection for next time.
